For us the doctor said it depends on the amount of eggs they get. If the get 3-5 eggs then he does a 3 day transfer with assisted hatching. If we had 5-8 or more than a 5 day transfer. We only had 3 so they did a 3 day transfer and we got our BFP today!!

For us the way it worked was that the goal was day 5 the embryos are better and stronger at that point but if they thought at day 3 the embryos weren't going to continue to progress to day 5 then we would transfer day 3

Hi, we've had two egg retrieval cycles but no transfer so far. This time they suggested to look at the embryos and as soon as they spot a healthy one they will transfer it, the sooner the better. Then we will let the others grow till day 5 and do pgs testing on those. Our doctor said that the uteris was a much better place for embryos than the dish. Which makes sense. Good luck to you.
