bedtimes?

Baby will be three months on the 21st. She's been sleeping through the night since 1 month. She typically gets a final bottle and swaddle anywhere between 11pm-2am. I'd like to establish a good routine with her now that I going back to work. Should I be trying to get her her final bedtime earlier? Should she have an established bedtime already? The hubby and I typically aren't home from work until 8pm so I'm just not sure when a good time would be and selfishly we both want time with her when we come me home.

If she isn't showing signs of being overtired, the late bedtime may very well be working for her. Babies generally need 10-12 hours of sleep at night - if she has to get up early then you might need to start transitioning to an earlier bedtime so she can get the sleep she needs.

My son was happy going to bed at 11pm as a newborn, but now he sleeps best at night and is happiest all day if he's sleeping by 9pm.

You have to do what works for your baby and your family, though - everyone is different.

The first 9 weeks of my daughter's life, she slept in bed with my husband and I and I told myself I would never do that! But she would just scream and scream when we put her in her crib, she didn't like it! But sloekyrwe transitioned her to her crib and it was a long two week process before she started sleeping through the night. Now she takes a short bath, eats and is put down between 8 and 9 and she sleeps til about 4, nurses and then wakes up at 7 to start the day. 
I thibk the routine works for us because my husband and I are also full time students so we can have a set time that we can start studying after she's gone to bed. Try different things and your baby will let you know what works for them.

Ours kind of made his own bedtime. At first, it was 8-8:30. Now it's usually 8:30-9. Sometimes later, sometimes earlier. He'll usually sleep until 5-6 am.

My lo kind of fell into his own pattern that we just support.  We get up early so he is ready for bed around 730-8. Hes 3 months as well so I just sing him a song while putting his pjs on and nurse him to sleep. I'd like to add a story in the rocking chair once hes less fussy at night.  It's nice because my husband and I get about an hour and a half to ourselves before we head to bed.

I wish I could get my daughter to go to bed around 8ish but it's like her body knows once 7 pm rolls around she so cranky but the lack of naps during day ( she will take only 2-3 1/2 hour naps) so I put her down by 8.

It's not really the bedtime that's important, it's the amount of sleep. If you're getting home that late, I'm assuming your whole day is shifted back a little? Does she get to sleep in late in the morning? I have to be at work early teaching high school, so I have to wake my daughter up at 5:30am. I try to do her bath and last bottle 6:30-7:30pm and she's asleep somewhere between 8-9pm. If she's sleeping a long time at night, you can totally create her bedtime schedule to be whatever works for your whole family.

My daughter will usually get a bath around 8:30.  We play in there for a bit and then get lotioned up and jammies on and maybe read a book or five!  By 9:15 I'll feed her for around 15 minutes and she will fall asleep during that.  If she doesn't fall asleep I can usually lay her in her rock and play and she will put herself to sleep after a few minutes of fussing.  If she seems like she needs some help nodding off I'll go to her and give her her bink and shush her and 5 min later she will be asleep.  I do NOT pick her up unless she is straight up crying, which has happened like once.  Lately she will sleep til about 5 am and wake up for a feeding/diaper change and sleep til 7 when my husband leaves for work.  I'm usually not ready to wake up at 7 because I'm a night owl!  So I'll lay her in bed with me and feed her laying down and she will sleep til 9.
Our plan to transition her to her crib is to start her in her cradle maybe next week.  It's more wide open than her rock and play. Then around 4.5/5 months we would move her cradle to her room and eventually move her to her crib.  My goal is for her to be sleeping through the night in her crib by 6 months and she is 3 months next week.  Not really any sooner because I'm not ready for her to sleep in her room yet!

It's going to be tough because the rock and play is amazing!  Even for a nap I'll lay her in it wide awake (after a feeding) and she will put herself to sleep and stay asleep for maybe 2 hours.  For the past month I've started her on naps in her crib and those naps only last 20 minutes if I'm lucky!

I would say 10 pm is still a good time to aim for since you obviously want to spend time with baby too!  If your baby seems content with a later bedtime it's probably fine but getting into a routine will help your evenings go a little smoother!
