uh oh!! am I early??

I don't know what to think...earlier today I had pretty painful cramping in my stomach area for about an hour. Felt like food poisoning cramps. Hours later, I wipe and there's light pink blood on the tissue. My period is 9 days away. Last period ended the 25th of August. Has my period ever come early? No, never. Has it been late? Yes, 4 days late last month for the first time in 17 years (I'm 31). I don't kno what to think! Anyone else experience this? What was the outcome?? I'm kinda scared. Thanks!
