When does your period stop after getting the IUD?

I got mine in about alittle over a week ago and ever since then i began to spot at first but then gradually went to becoming my period now its been about 10days of my 'period' Btw i got the Mirena

It may stop straight away, take a few months, or not stop at all.

Most women experience a period or bleed every other month.
Some experience no bleeding.

I had spotting for the first three months then nothing for 2 years until I had it removed, and then took 8 weeks to start having a period again
