Birth: which part tends to be the most painful?

Contractions/dilation? Baby in birth canal/pushing? Baby's head crowning? Something else?
  
What pain relief did you use? How did you cope?

Contractions can be excruiating or mild depending how high your pain tolerance is and how strong you get the contractions. It varies. Dialation you don't feel due to your mind being on the contraction pain. Pushing is exhausting with alot of pressure and but its kind of relieving once baby is out. Sensations are not pleasant especially the pressure in your bum and crowning is horrible the worse burning ever! You feel like your on fire literally! But its for a few minutes only then the burning will subside. Pain wise theirs lots of pain relief options. I opted for a epidural but it didn't work for me. It hurts more if you don't concentrate on your breathing and remain focused. Its tough going i won't lie its exhausting beyond and very painful but you soon forget the pain when baby arrives. Try not to panick and be calm because panicking will not help you. All easier said then done i know!!

I don't think there was one part that was worse than the other. The contractions were bad, but once it was time to push - it was relieving to push through them. I didn't feel the dilation. When she came out it hurt, burning almost.

I'm just being honest. Be prepared in knowing it'll hurt, unless of course you get an epidural. But keep in mind, that was my plan, my daughter came to fast for me to get one (and this was my first child).

Either way, you can do it. You will do it. And it'll all be worth it no matter what your birth story turns out to be.

If I have any suggestion, pray in between contractions. That helped me. ❤️ Good luck.

Honestly the worst part is active labor contractions when you're dialating those last few centimeters. Pushing feels like a relief and crowning literally only stings for a few seconds and then it's over. I've had 2 babies, both without epidurals, but I did have iv meds to help get me through the active labor part. They don't really help the pain at all, but they relax you and make you drowsy which helped me zone out and deal with the pain.

Some contractions can be pretty bad. I had all mine in my lower back; however, I'd have to go with the crowning bc you feel an intense burning sensation due to stretching skin. I opted for an all natural birth w/o an episiotomy. Luckily I only tore slightly & needed 2 stiches. It really comes down to your pain threshold as well.

My contractions were never that bad but I had terrible back labor. Pushing hurt but it was also a relief because you know the end is so close!!

Contractions for me were the absolute worst. I was not prepared for the pain and I was flipping out. I was hell bent on an all natural birth but finally caved and got some morphine at about 11 hours into labor. It did nothing for my pain though. Pushing wasn't painful, just uncomfortable and a very odd feeling, it did sting a little when his head came out but I was so focused on just being done I didn't really notice. And as soon as he came out the pain was over. Huge relief.
