Sick and tired of this

So my in laws just took my 3 year old daughter to our neighbors who live just up the hill from us. Normally that would be a problem but they left without her car seat and are now upset at us for "making a big deal out of it". But you see I was in 2 accidents when I was younger and both of them where in full view of out destinations. Probably no more than 200 feet in both cases. They don't see a problem with her not having the proper seat going up the road because it isn't far. But it doesn't matter how far away you are accidents can happen. No for more detail we live on a dirt road, with no street lights, on a hill, with tons of corners and turns and people already race down in as it is. But apparently me and my fiance are in the wrong. I don't get how wanting our child to be safe is wrong. So frustrated.
