I personally believe when you're 18+ there is so much less worry about it once you're an adult

At whatever age you can determine if you're mentally and physically ready to start having sex. Virginity is a dated societal idea. You're still the same person, you're sexually active. But it is something new, so be sure you have the information you need to make that choice. I would recommend both parties being 18+ when you do it, just to avoid statutory rape stuff.
