laundry detergent?

FTM due 10/13. I want to start washing everything but don't know if I should spend the money on baby detergent or if the regular kind will work the same?

The Free&Clear detergents are just as safe as dreft (Maybe safer) and usually cheaper.

We are using All Free & Clear. Dreft is heavily fragranced which can cause irritation if your little one has sensitive skin.

I use the Target brand Up& Up Free and Clear. It's a lot more detergent for a much better price. Baby detergent and the new Tide free and clear are small bottles and super pricey.

I heard to use dreft at least the first few months or so until baby skin isn't as sensitive and then you can use a non fragrant detergent. That's what I am doing.

I washed all babys stuff in dreft and then rewashed it all in honest co detergent I got at my baby shower. Dreft was WAY too strong smelling even for me. Can't imagine her little nose having to deal with it. Eventually after this honest co bottle runs out, will probably use our regular sensitive skin detergent we use for our clothes.
