Can any one help me?

So I've had this cup for 2 cycles now but I had only used it once. I started my period last night and I thought I'd give the cup another go. This morning I put it in. The cup fully opened. A couple of minutes later I started to leak. And then it was just lots of blood. As if the cup was catching nothing. It had been an hour and so I pulled it out. (It was a very messy situation...) And there was the tiniest bit of blood in the cup. Why was it leaking so much!?? I just want it to work...
