stitches from tear

I had my LO 12 days ago. I had a vaginal birth where I tore my perineum and my labia. My Dr. stitched both up and said they would dissolve eventually. On Friday I was having more pain than normal and took a look at what was going on down there. I noticed my labia had split again where it was stitched so I went into the dr.'s  o ha e it checked. The midwife said that happens often with labia tears and it will heal as two separate flaps. 😳 she also said my stitches should have dissolved by 7 days and attempted to take them out, it hurt really badly and stopped half way through saying she would leave the remains few in because the were tender and hurting me so much. Now I'm so panicked they won't dissolve and I'll have to have the rest removed! It hurt so much, has anyone else had any similar issues with stitches?? I'm
