Sleep when baby sleeps? Yeah right!

I hear that phrase quite often but I just can't do it! FTM here and I literally just want to watch him while he is sleeping. Is he breathing? Is the swaddle ok? What if he throws out milk? Anyone here feel the same? Or those with experience have any advice for a new mom?

It's normal to worry about the baby when they are sleeping. My daughter is 5 months and I STILL worry and check up on her. I barely got any sleep when she was a newborn because I was worried that she would stop breathing at night. As for "sleeping when the baby sleeps" you don't have to. You can just use that time to do something else. What about take a shower, a bath, read a book, watch a tv show, relax, clean the house, ect. I try to get a workout in while the baby naps.

Sleep when baby sleeps? Yeah right!
