period

So yesterday morning I had light pink discharge so I thought I was coming on my period. Went to the bathroom hours later nothing. Woke up nothing. Came home from class and wiped and got brown egg whitey discharge on the tissue. Put a panty liner in my panties bc I was sure I was going to start, again nothing. Has anyone experienced this? I am so confused and hoping nothing is wrong. I know you guys aren't doctors but I was wondering what this could be. I haven't tested and scared to. Any advice would be appreciated.
