natural birth , no medication?

Can I know your stories of people who have had their baby completely naturally? I want to but I'm terrified. I'm meeting my midwife today so any questions I should ask?

I had mine naturally, no meds. For me, it was worse than I could've imagined. I have a a high pain tolerance, so I thought Itd be nothing, but boy did God humble me! The beauty of it though is that it's 2 minutes of agony and then two minutes of relief. And YOU CAN DO IT. You will feel so accomplished, powerful, and amazed with your body. I'm in no way trying to scare you, but all the women I heard from said "it wasn't that bad" and I went into it so unprepared... I think you need to go into it knowing that the amount of pain you'll experience is normal, and you can overcome it.

Watch The Business of Being Born on Netflix. I just had my baby naturally at home. Our bodies are meant to do this. You do need to be prepared. It is intense but it's pain with a purpose. It's kind of beyond pain. You have to trust your body and let it take over. Do a lot of research and take classes and prenatal yoga. You can 100% do it. If you decide to, don't look back and don't let anyone talk you out of it st the last minute.

My best advice is to allow your body to not tense up with the contractions, don't fight them. They hurt, it's the worst pain I've ever felt but once I started breathing through them and relaxing it was so much more manageable. Pushing didn't hurt, just felt uncomfortable.

Ask how they help support women who want natural births. I have have one birth without an epidural (I was induced and had one does of narcotics early on) and plan on having a totally natural birth this time. I am a doula and I have helped 7 women have natural births. I recommend hiring a doula, they will be able to help you with breathing techniques for every stage of labor, help you let go of your fear which is SO important, use visulation, special massage/counter pressure/hip squeezes, suggest different positions and the use of water and so much more.

I never had to push, they ended up doing an emergency c-section at the last second--but I did dilate to a 10 (contractions <2 minutes apart) with no medication at all. It was excruciatingly painful. I couldn't talk, breathe, or move. I could hear myself screaming outside of my own body, as if it was someone else's voice. But it was mine. They had to remove my mother because she was hysterical seeing me in so much pain. The pain was so intense, there are moments I don't remember (blackouts) and I was delirious throughout, crying, yelling, ans screaming. It felt like I was being ripped apart. I have a very high pain tolerance (like sky high) and I kept asking for pain relief.I never received any. The only relief came when they inserted the spinal tap to prep for surgery...I still remember the relief of not being able to feel those contractions anymore. I cried through my entire c-section because I was still traumatized from the pain. Honestly, it was the worst day of my life. I would honestly never choose to go naturally, but if it happens, it happens.

I did. It matters a lot what the birthing place allows and if they actually follow the recommendations. You don't want to come in until you've been in active labor for a bit, you DON'T want to lay down, you want to be allowed to drink and preferably even eat if you want to, you don't want to have an IV (because then you can't walk around very well). You don't want to deliver in the bed because you really need to be able to pick your positron and move around (I delivered on the floor which my hospital was fine with, they just put down a pad for me to sit on). You want the baby on your chest right away... So those are the things I'd ask about. Some places insist on IVs even though they're not routinely recommended... If they say you're allowed to eat while in labor you've got a good one - that is actually recommended but lots of hospitals ignore the recommendations and don't allow it so if your place will you're probably talking to a place that actually knows what they're doing and doesn't just operate on "what we've always done"
