castor oil?

So I've been 1cm dilated for the last 2 weeks. Had a membrane sweep done today which prob won't work bc I'm not dilated enough. Dr went in as much as he could. I've been eating pineapple, bouncing on ball, sex... Nothing is making baby boy come out. I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow. Now I'm tempted to try castor oil... Should I?

Honestly, if your body isn't ready it won't do much. I was 3cm when I tried it and I didn't have a single side effect. Not one. I'd wait and see if your sweep progressed you at all before trying it, it's so gross it really isn't worth doing it when it's likely it won't do much.

It's been a week since I've tried it and I had a sweep done today because I had thinned out and effaced 50% which I hadn't been at all previously, so I may try it again if baby doesn't come within the next 48hours!

I'd wait until at least 40w to try castor oil... It's not always safe.

Castor oil did nothing for me but give me diarrhea for 2 hours and painful contractions that eventually went away and didn't dilate me.. Could still work for you though everyone body is different. I'm currently taking Evening Primose Oil and doing nipple stimulation. 3 days away from my due date and feel like she's not budging! 😖😖😖

Wvening primrose oil.  2 capsales inserted as close to ir cervix as u can get.  Do it at night bc the oil will leak out.  I was at 1 for 2 weeks and used it for 2 days and went to 3 and by the 5th day today im contractong more frequently and loat mucus plug
