how long to wait before having another baby?

We already have a little boy who is almost 4 months, and I'm not saying I want to get pregnant right away, but I am SOOO anticipating the next. I miss being pregnant so badly. There are so many factors at play - I know we'll be moving within the year. I want them to be close in age. Hubby will be deploying soon. Ughhhh.

How long did you ladies wait inbetween babies? Is there ever a perfect time?

My OB told us that it takes about 2 years for your body to return internally to its prepregnancy state and that he recommends waiting at least that long before conceiving again to allow your body to return to an optimal state.

There are a lot of factors to consider and your situation will be different to the next person. I would consider things like breast feeding, which can be inhibited if you become pregnant while feeding. Also you put a huge amount of pressure on your bodies vitamin reserves etc when you become pregnant too early after birth, you have already put so much of yourself into producing one baby. Then there are the logistics of having to use a double stroller and 2 x car seats, help with routine at home/naps/feeds/playtime/shopping without your SO it might be a struggle but if you have help it might not be so hard.

Traditionally, and this is backed up by studies, women spaced children at least 2 years apart. 
The reason being, pregnancy takes a lot from the mothers body. Even in a fully mature healthy woman, it was found that 2 years is ideal to allow her to restock her reserves, so to speak. 
Women who do this have statistically healthier babies that have fewer health problems than babies of mothers who did not practice pregnancy spacing.

I've heard waiting at least a year between pregnancies to allow your body to recover. However, the perfect time doesn't exist and if it did it would vary from couple to couple. For us having a child in the late spring/early summer is best and I want my daughter to be at least 2 before we try again.
