Belly question?

So im just curious as to why most of my stomach is hard but below my belly button is soft? Any ideas as to why? Im 27 weeks

The baby faces mostly toward your spine and is curved with their butt up and out and head down toward your back. Mostly how your uterus naturally is positioned. Even more if you have an anterior placenta where it's in the front it cushion your belly and not your back.

Probably how bub is sitting, seems to be higher rather than lower so maybe thats why?

I've always wondered the same thing. I'm 24 weeks and the bottom of mine is squishy and flat.
