Is it sore getting waters broken?

Question

I have had to be induced due to medical reasons at 40+4 weeks. 
Yesterday I have an examination and the first pessary inserted which was very painful as my cervix was still far back and not softened. After I've had the gels if cervix is more favourable they will break my waters. Is this meant to be as painful?

I thought it was terrible. She was sitting on the side of the bed when she was doing it and I was literally kicking her off the bed. She laughed about it but I definitely wasn't. A kick was necessary dealing with that.

It doesn't hurt at all .. just the contractions once you start feeling them more pain in like 2 hours .. but its bearable

My doctor started to break mine but it was hurting me so he let me get my epidural and then broke it. Didn't feel a thing after the epidural, until it stopped working as I got to about a 9 dilated. But I think that was just a freak thing that it stopped working.

I was induced and had my water broke by my doctor both previous pregnancies and breaking the water didnt hurt me, I was about 5 cm maybe 6 dilated both times. It was uncomfortable. I can remember how weird it felt to feel the water rush out and my tummy shrank so fast. It was almost a relief kind of feeling for me at first but afterwards the contraction were a lot more painful so I ended up getting an epidural with both about 30 minutes after they broke my water. I remember with my first my doctor asking me before they broke my water if i wanted the epidural because it was going to get more painful afterwards and I said no I think ill be ok. Then 20 minutes later I was saying I want the epidural!

Mine killed when he broke mine but only because I was on day 3 of induction. I had been checked every 4 hours for 3 days after starting the pessarys to dilate and soften my cervix. He left me overnight without checks and no pessarys to see if I went into labour myself which I didn't then broke them the next morning. That was fine it didn't hurt after a few hours rest

I've had my waters broken for each of my 4 deliveries and it doesn't hurt. It's awkward because you feel like you peed yourself but it doesn't hurt
