Is it ok to be upset?

OK so I'm 38wks pregnant today well my SO is from Chicago we live in Maryland well his uncle just passed away on Tuesday so he's flying to Chicago for 3 days to attend his uncles viewing n funeral n he asked if I was OK with him going which I am because I don't want him to miss it but at the same time I'm really upset he could possibly miss our daughters birth n I have this feeling just cause he will be gone I'll end up in labor. Do I have a right to be upset? How would you feel?

He flight from Chicago to Maryland is short!  If you go into labor I'm sure he can get back home if you tell him to hightail it!

I'm going to say no it's not okay to be upset with him but yes it's okay to be upset. A birth is a huge thing but just imagine (if it does happen while he's away) how amazing it'll be to see him meet her for the first time.

If you told him to go don't hold it against him and be mad! It's ok to be sad and bummed tho I hope baby holds out till he returns!

I don't think I'd be upset because a member of his family passed away and if he was close to that uncle he should be there..but I know I'd be VERY anxious! Hopefully it's a quick trip!

I guess if it's someone he was close too emotionally...  if that's the case for my husband I would ok with him going but at the same time scared and nervous about baby coming early ... try to relax .. maybe try to get in some girl time with ur friends while he is gone.. three days can fly by fast..

You have no idea when the baby is coming. That's s death. You really just don't want him to go. It's hormones. The loss of a loved one is hard

Live in Maryland too! But I would be upset with the situation and the possibilities that come with him traveling so close to you having the baby anyday now. I would try to stay stress free, rest as much as you can so baby gets the hint to hold off until daddy is home :). Sorry you have to go thru this, hormones don't help us pregnant ladies either.

I can understand still being sad and anxious about possibly going into labor while he is gone.  I think your perfectly entitled to feel that way even though you know it's a family member and want him to be there for his uncle and family.  Good luck, hope that baby stays put till he's back!!

I feel like your being selfish, I understand u can go i to labor but it's not for sure. Worst case he can catch an early flight back, or never get to say last goodbye to his uncle.
