Choosing not to have a shower.

My husband and I got married in April, and it was such a pain to organize and to get everything prepared that I have literally no desire to plan or assemble a baby shower. My best friend is in the midst of a very busy nursing clinical and cannot spare the time (and I would absolutely not ask her to) and my mama is moving a state away in just a few weeks. 😔 My mother-in-law has offered but I genuinely don't want her to throw me a shower (I have been having difficulty with resentment lately; each time we go over she and her husband refuse to refrain from smoking marijuana in the house - normally I would not care, but while pregnant, I do and feel disrespected because my wishes aren't regarded when we visit). I'd rather just go without and buy myself the bare essentials and focus on myself and my little family. Is anyone else choosing to go without as well?
