Put some vapour rub in a bowl and the put boiling water in, mix it together then put the bowl under his crib, it'll help with the cold

My little one gets that way a lot, I won't take him to the dr unless he gets a high fever. we use the bulb syringe/nasal aspirator (what ever it's called!) or the NoseFrida and turn a humidifier on in his room at night. If it's bad, we use saline nose spray before using the NoseFrida. Both of those things help a lot.
