flu jab yes or no?

My doctors are going on about me getting a flu jab. Any pros and cons? I had flu jab years ago and it made me I'll for weeks and after that I got the flu a couple months later...

The flu shot cannot give you the flu - it's a dead virus. It's safe for pregnancy and recommended because having the flu while pregnant can be more dangerous than otherwise. Some effectiveness is better than none, and even if it's not the right strain it can make getting sick with other strains far less impactful. I got mine today. Always have and always will!

Personally, I do not get flu shots nor do I allow my daughter to get them. I've never had one and I'm perfectly fine 😁 and some years I go without even getting sick during flu season. I personally don't see the necessity behind it and refuse it every time. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an anti-vaccine mom (not judging if you are) but the flu shot is the one that I just don't agree with 🙅🏽 At the end of the day, you gotta do what's best for you at the time though 😊

Yeah, immune system is lower during pregnancy. Fever's can seriously impact your baby. Consider getting it definitely !!!

I said no to all vaccines during pregnancy. There are no studies to verify whether or not they are safe during pregnancy. And it says so right in the insert to the vaccines if you ask to read it. A "they THINK they're safe" isn't good enough for me. Sorry.

I got the flu shot last year, then had a miscarriage. Not saying they are related at all, but with all the readings on vaccines and the bad effects of them, I'm going to stay away this time. Not worth the chance

My job requires me to have it and my ob says there is no issue with it so I got mine I'd rather be safe and keep myself healthy for the baby but I love seeing women stand up for what they feel is right for them 😁

I'm 19 weeks and my work also requires one. If it prevents me from possibly getting the flu and being miserable then I'm all for it! I have 2 school age children and they bring home everything!

Get it.  If you get sick just before you give birth you risk passing it to your baby who doesn't have the immunity to fight it off.  That's some scary shit. :(  there was a lady went into labor the night before my appointment a couple weeks ago and she had the flu already, hopefully won't pass it to baby!  People say there can be complications but unless you are allergic to something in the vaccine (they give preservative free during pregnancy) you should get it.  Better to get the flu shot than to get sick and pass it to baby, imo.  Just like MMR vaccine and whooping cough... These diseases can be deadly for newborns.

One reason they want you to get the flu shot is because if you get it while pregnant it will protect the baby from the flu for the first six months of their life as well when they are most susceptible to getting sick and too young to get the shot themselves.

I get it every year, partly because I work in a hospital, partly (and mostly) because I have asthma and allergies that make getting sick really scary for me. I'm planning to get one this year as well.
