are kisses supposed to be wet?

last year some random guy stole my first kiss, and yeah he basically left saliva on my face. I thought it was because I was talking in the moment and/or becasue he was a bad kisser. But then I kissed my crush and it wasn't disgusting as the other guy but still a lot of saliva in the mix.
