This is what I've been afraid of
Edit: Since y'all don't understand. This is the first time something has been assumed about him based on his skin color. It was rude to say. Especially when the man reads the Bible. He assumed this just because of his race and that's not right. It's the same as asking a Hispanic person if they'll work for a quarter an hour or just assuming that blacks are dangerous. He did this with the sole purpose of being a racist asshole.
I went to the store I work for, a small convenient store. There's only 5 people that work there anyway, me and my husband, my boss who is the owner, and his wife, and then another close friend.
Anyway, this morning it was just the owner working. He and his wife moved here almost twenty years ago from a country near Pakistan (I cannot remember the name at all).
Anyway, a man comes in, my boss described him as "scraggly, didn't look like he had showered in a month, and rude".
My boss said when he got up to the register, the man said "there you are. I need to learn something. Do you have a Quaran (I apologize if my spelling is wrong)? The only ones I can find are in that ridiculous language where you come from over there, I need one in English"
My boss said he told the man to leave and not return.
I know it's not the worst thing to say to someone, but it's still not right. Especially when my boss is known for having a huge heart and would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. I can only imagine what it would have been like if the man would have said it in front of my boss' seven year old.
