pregnancy?

So I had the implant removed 2 years come Feb and I have been trying to get pregnant! (I already have a 6yo Wee girl) Great right? Well I have been ill the past few weeks and went to my docs the other day because I was struggling to breath and he said it was an asthma attack but iv been sick at least once everyday for the past week could this be due to the asthma or could I be pregnant? I'm immune to pregnancy tests so I'll need a blood test but can I check any other way? Tia x
