Breastfeeding as birth control?

Has anyone heard of this? I exclusively breastfeed and have read/heard that it is an effective form of birth control. Has anyone gotten pregnant (Irish twins?) on this method?  "Frequent and regular breastfeeding as a form of contraception is called lactational amenorrhoea method (LAM). LAM is about 98 per cent effective. However, LAM will only work for you if: Your baby is younger than six months old."

Its not reliable. While breastfeeding can stop ovulation it shouldn't be the only form of bc

I know a few women that relied on ebf as birth control and ended up with surprise pregnancies. If I was trying to avoid pregnancy I would make sure to use some back up birth control.

I got pregnant while EBF and my babies will be less than a year apart

There are a bunch of factors that have to apply in order for this to work. 
I forget what they all are but breastfeeding is not a good form of contraception

I have gotten pregnant literally a few weeks after I have tapered off breastfeeding.  Twice like a boss.  My body shuts down during bf.
