Started Way Early??

So I've been on birth control for the past two months. I don't take my sugar pills for 8 more days but I started my period today. I did miss a pill on Sunday but I took two on Monday and I also didn't take my pill today because I've actually decided to come off but only today. I didn't think my period would come so soon. Anyone know why that might've happened?
