do they get upset?

Just curious. Does it irritate you, those who are L&D nurses if someone comes in worried about their baby to be triaged? I came in with horrible pain and tightness in my belly and my daughter shaking in there pretty roughly and these women are being extremely rude.. baby is doing fine and I'm not dilated. I just feel like an inconvenience. I am here along with one other woman who is on the contraction monitor.. I hope they don't think I'm awful for coming in 😭

I think the reason they get so cranky is because they do get the same things over and over. 
Someone coming in for a totally normal pregnancy symptom, but swearing something is wrong. Do that 10 times a shift and I see how it can be annoying. It's not your fault. It's just that they do the same things over and over. Like when customers ask you the same questions over and over and your job. 
I swear I'm not blaming you. Just guessing as to why they get pissy.

Also they have women who come in DEMANDING things, or women in labor who are yelling at them (not always something you can help), they are on their feet for long long shifts with minimal pee or food breaks. It's a tiring job so sometimes the cranky can get to them. It's also often a thankless job. Especially if the woman who they are dealing with has come in thinking they know more than the nurses.  (I know plenty of nurses and these are all typical things they deal with)

Some nurses, smdh. Don't feel like a burden, YOUR only concern is of your and baby's health. Who cares what they think or feel. Just like everyone, they'll get off work, talk their shit and come back the next day and start all over again. I mean yeah, I understand they get tired of people coming in for little things because they see it all the time and it's "nothing" to them, because they see it All the time, but it's new to you.

They are supposed to be there to HELP you and protect your baby. Obviously something was going on and you clearly needed monitored. Don't let some rude nurses make you feel like a burden. Your baby's health comes first.
