early scans??

I have just found out I'm about 5 weeks pregnant and I've seen a few ladies putting their early scans up like 5 week scans. How is this possible as I thought the first scan was 12 weeks???

I had my first scan at 4w and another 2 until now(I'm 7w1d) because I had an ectopic before,if your pregnancy is normal,without riscs you will have your first at 12 weeks only

My first scan was 7 weeks 1 day due to conceiving through ivf.

Mine was at 8 weeks. Most obgyn do them between 8 and 12 weeks in order to confirm due date

Every OB is different. Mine wouldn't see me until 8 weeks.

I'm not high risk and my first scan was at 8 weeks. My doctor does a dating scan at that time, but not all doctors do.

My first scan was at 7w 5d. My ob office does the first confirmation scan at 8w and then the anatomy at 20w. If you find out that you are prego later they obviously do a confirmation scan at that time. I think every office is different.
