Don't get swept up in the costs. Just because it cost more doesn't mean it's necessarily better. remember: every car seat has to pass the SAME safety standards. Even the cheapest one! The extra costs are for name brands or small luxuries for your child (cooling fabric, extra head support, cute designs) so if all you can afford is the $35 basic car seat, rest easy knowing your baby will still be just as safe!
