what would you do

So my doctor asked me if I wanted to go ahead & schedule to be induced if I go past my due date & I did. I'm due the 12th & I scheduled to be induced on the 18th. Then last week when I went she basically talked me into going with my earlier option which is the 11th, the day before my due date. She told me labor would be easier & blah blah blah. But now I'm kinda wondering why she wants me to do it on the 11th. I know my baby could totally come on her own before then because I'm 2cm dilated & she said she's right there & ready to go. But basically I'm trying to decide if I should go back to my original date of the 18th. I go to the doctor in 5 hours. What would you guys do?

I would wait! I was 5 days late with my first. They were telling me he was going to be over 9 lbs and I should schedule, but even though I was uncomfortable i had decided early on, like you, baby knows best and I wouldn't schedule unless there was an emergency (like cord wrapped around neck). He came in his own time, I had an awesome labor experience (bc he was ready!) and he was 'only' 8 lbs 1 oz. that's a far cry from 9lbs+ they were telling me! Now I'm a week out from my due date with my second and dying for her to come, but refuse to schedule bc 1) the majority of induction stories I've heard don't go well 2) they truly know when to come on their own. Go with your gut and switch back to the 18th and I'm sure your beautiful, healthy baby sounds like they will make their appearance before then! Mama knows best!

To me it's kind of loaded. Your doc could want you to be induced on the 11th so you could have your baby in your arms sooner, or she thinks she's doing you a favor. Or because it's more convenient for her. I personally would do the 11th but then again I get really uncomfortable within the last week of pregnancy. So basically what it comes down to is what you want.

Unless you are an older mother, have high BP, or other medical need to be induced, I would ask to wait until after your due date. I was induced with pitocin with my first because my water broke and I wasn't contracting. It was really difficult. I'm hoping to avoid induction this time around!

But remember, either way you get a baby at the end! Good luck!

Personally if it wasn't medically necessary I would go with the 18th. Just in case baby wants to bake a little longer. Baby will come when baby is ready you can't rush perfection! Lol 😀 Since you are already dilating I'm sure you will have it before the 18th. I would rather let the baby decide when to come. All and all do what is best for you and your baby!

I'd switch back to the 18th....baby will come when she comes but yeh no need before their due date IMO. But like you said maybe baby will come before on own.

Do what you want! Either day your getting induced, if the baby doesn't come on its own, so i don't think it matters, it's 7 days not 3 weeks!!

The 12th is my due date and my doctor won't even talk about induction til after the 12th.  What does your so think? I personally would do the 18th that way I know I gave her a chance to come on her due date :) good luck!

I'm currently 40w3d. I see my OB again today. She said I can schedule to be induced starting at one week overdue, so Saturday would be the earliest. A friend of mine had a still born because she was overdue by almost two weeks, and the baby compressed the umbilical cord on the last day in utero. I am going to go for the induction at one week over.

Wait. Allow yourself 10days over at least. As long as your baby is ok this is the best thing.

I was over due with my first two. I was induced a week after due date. I was told labor is more painful being induced since it lasts a bit longer. I was dilated at 36 weeks to 3 with my second but then she just hung out 5 more weeks. Lol
