Best cramp medication

My 10 year old started her period about 2 months ago and her cramps seem to be unbearable. She goes to the doctor on tomorrow, they may have to prescribe her some stronger but right now she needs something. What do you all recommend? I never have had severe cramps like what she experiencing. Please help, my baby has missed school the past 2 days and it doesn't seem to be getting any better for her.
