I just finished my 2nd course of antibiotics in a row for a chest infection I couldn't get rid of.

Tons of women take antibiotics. They will give you pregnancy safe ones. Go to the doctor whenever you want to. We can't tell you how bad it hurts or how red it looks or anything. Guess if it lasts a few days without getting better, it gets worse, or you have a fever go see your regular doctor and let them know you're pregnant.

Most things that cause sore throats are viral and tend not to need antibiotics, however there are antibiotics that are generally seen as safe during pregnancy. I had to take amoxicillin because I'm a GBS carrier and as usual it came back positive during my pap/cultures at my very first appointment at 8 weeks. So I would assume amoxicillin is safe, or at least in that case the risks outweigh the benefits. Hope you feel better!

U should only take antibiotics if they are prescribed to u. Yes, many women do take prescribed antibiotics by their obgyn for various reasons -utis, bv, yeast infection, etc etc. U need to go to the doctor first. That's the first step. Get a,proper diagnosis and get proper medication.
