is birth control causing bv?

I have gotten back on bc for the third time now trying to find one that works for me. I got my period all out of nowhere and have had bv that WONT go away. I've been using rephresh gel and it's finally starting to let up but I also stopped taking the bc again and also just started taking probiotic pills. It happens about two weeks into starting a new bc EVERY time. This past time I'm really perplexed because I've had no sex in months, my diet is clean. Anyone else get bv often? And for seemingly no reason? It doesn't even matter if I'm on bc, those bv symptoms make sex embarrassing so I won't even consider it. I'm so frustrated. It's causing a huge rift in my relationship of four years.
