What's it like getting the Mirena?

Question

Hola ladies. So I'm about to get the Mirena IUD as my physician and I deemed it the best birth control option for me. I just wanted to know if anyone of y'all who have gotten it have any advice and can tell me what I can expect when I get it. He prescribed me some pain medicine to take beforehand but I'm not a big fan of drugs so I just wanna know if can manage without them. Thank you all!

I actually just got mine put in today and it feels like really bad cramping but overall the procedure wasn't bad but I am experiencing horrible cramps and nausea now.

i was expecting alot worse because of what i had read about other ladies experiences but mine was not bad at all.. it was inserted and i only felt pressure amd like an ant bite .. i did bleed but just a little bit for like 2 days and that was it.. i took asprin about  800mg, 40min before my appmtn and i can honestly tell you i had almost no pain.. just had very little cramps like from 1 to 10... i would say a 2 or 3. i think the asprin helped alot! 😉good luck sweetie
