is my baby ready to start on food?

She's 4 months. Every time I try to feed her, she doesn't seem to get a GOOD feeding except for at night. If I had her on food, I would think she was ready to wean off. 
But she's not on food. Just breast milk.
I feel like she's not getting enough. Is she ready for baby food? My plan was to wait until she was about 6 months old...

Keep in mind, no matter when you start your baby on solids, she'll still be getting most of her nourishment from breastmilk/formula until she's a year old. No 4 month old or even 6 month old will eat enough solid food for that to be a main source of nutrition. It's just to get them used to different flavors and textures. Food is fun till one!

If you're concerned your baby isn't eating enough breastmilk/formula, talk to your pediatrician and make sure she's not sick or anything. Also, all babies go through periods where they're less hungry. It's normal. My baby used to polish off 6-7 four-ounce bottles every day, but right now I'm lucky if I can get her to finish 5. She just isn't hungry. Her appetite will come back at her next growth spurt, no doubt. Your baby could just be going through a not-hungry phase.
