what do you do when...

My husband will NoT help with the litter box after month 2 he gave it up and im having to do it. I'm so worried about it hurting our baby. Anyone else have this issue or know away to try to convince him? He's a nurse and thinks he knows it won't hurt the baby if I just wear gloves.

He's right, you'll be fine if you wear gloves and clean the box regularly. You're more likely to get toxoplasmosis from eating undercooked meat than cleaning your cat box and the chance is MUCH lower if you have inside cats.  I've been the sole cleaner of the litter box wth both of my pregnancies and I've been fine.

I'm sorry, but what an asshole. I had to clean the liter box in my own with a mask and gloves because my husband wasn't home, but the moment he came home, he took over even though it's technically my cat.
And even if you're not as likely to get infected, why would he want to risk it? It's a pretty dick move.

I've always done it, I god it throughout my last pregnancy and I'm doing it throughout this one. The risk is minimal, I do it every day and the cats are indoor cats. I don't ingest anything 😹 & I wash my hands thoroughly afterwards.  I'm not remotely worried & my doctor agrees that it's fine.

My honey has cleaned them since we found out. Every nurse I have talked to and asked if we had cats immediately said you're not doing the boxes right?! He'd rather do them than chance it hurting us...but he says in 9 months I'm doing them for a year lol
