HELP!! what's the difference betwen braxton hicks and true contractions??

I'm only 22w and I think I just had my first braxton hicks contraction... It hurt so much and it lasted for probably 30 seconds. I'm just scared because I'm a FTM and don't know the difference... Should I be worried? And is it too soon for me to even be feeling this ?

Here's how a nurse out it for me one time and it's a pretty good gauge: Imagine there was a stack of a million dollar bills on your table. When you are in so much pain that you can't even think about reaching out to grab any of those bills, then you're in true labor.
After I had my daughter, I realized she had a point. 😂

A hell of a lot of pain. I never had them with my first but have since 29 or 30 weeks this time. They hurt and some even hurt really bad but you can breathe and get through it. The real thing hurts non-stop even between contractions. I couldn't sleep from pain not just discomfort. Once you feel them trust me you will just know.

Braxton hicks contractions are like a tightening of your entire abdomen and often are not painful. Sometimes they are not even noticeable.

Labor contractions are felt much lower/deeper....  In your cervix basically.  But having labor contractions doesn't necessarily mean you are in labor,  either.  Depends on the intensity and pattern of them

You don't have to worry unless they get longer and closer together. If they were 15 minutes apart and hey don't to like 8 I would call but if they say ay random and don't hurt more it's not labor. I had awful Braxton hicks one night but I knew it wasn't labor becaus they weren't getting stronger/longer and closer together her.
