Baby names! Which spelling is best?

For a baby girl, I love the name pronounced  "loor-ay-lee" it's kind of one I made up myself as I've never heard it before, but I hate names being spelt phonetically. I originally thought it should be spelt "lorelei" but apparently that reads "loor-uh-lie". Can I get away with spelling loor-ay-lee as lorelei or is there a better way to spell it?
