36 weeks is Less movement, normal?

Question

FTM and I haven't felt much movement the past day or two from my baby boy. Every once in a while I'll feel him turn or get a soft kick. Should I be concerned? Is it normal for the movements to slow down around this time?

According to my midwife it's not unusual for movements to be less forceful/gentler,  but they shouldn't decrease in frequency or significantly change in pattern right up until birth. If you've noticed the baby isn't moving as often as usual you should get checked out.

I am experiencing the same thing. I think it also depends how active you have been. The more I run around the less movements. But when in doubt get checked out. That's what the docs get paid for!

He moved a little more after breakfast. Then I used my Doppler a hour or so later and his heart rate is 144. That's a great sign of course. I'm going to head in about 1:00 for a check up. Thanks ladies
