Is it weird for me to have his ex fiance's ring as my engagement and now wedding ring?

He proposed to me with the ring she gave back to him after abusing cheating hurting and screwing him over. I went our entire engagement and first few months of marriage without saying anything. But it bothered me sooooo much. I thought of her and all the awful stories when I looked at it. When I finally brought it up his dad and brother called me an ungrateful selfish bitch and gold digger. They told me it was his ring to give away and it wasn't ever really hers. Am I being bitchy by feeling this way and for having gotten it exchanged??
