5w 4d not supposed to announce it??

So...  I got told that I shouldn't announce that I'm pregnant until I'm further along...what are your thoughts on this?  Is it wrong to announce it this early?

Announce whenever you like. People wait b/c the first semester has a higher risk for miscarriage and some find it hard to talk about it to everyone if that happens. I am telling close friends. I would want them to be there for me if a miscarriage did happen.

Its a personal choice. Announcing it now vs later will not prevent anything from happening if its going to happen.

In my case I am only telling my parents, in-laws,and best friend. Once I reach 12wks I will share it my manager and everyone else...if I'm showing then.

As someone who had a MC this past July and is now 6 weeks pregnant again I look at it this way...if I would have no issue sharing that I lost the pregnancy than I have no issue telling you I am pregnant again. I have told my parents, in laws, and close friends. I have decided to wait to tell my children and the rest of the world.  I will know when the time is right.

I plan to announce to work around 8-9 weeks. But my job is stressful and requires physical labor I shouldn't do while pregnant.

I told a lot of people as soon as I found out at 4 weeks and lost the baby a week later.  Its completely up to you, I just know I'll be waiting until the second trimester

We personally don't plan to announce until the doc says everything is going great. I am 6wks, and ultrasound 2wks from now. That's when we plan to announce because we'll a picture too!

We announced to close family and friends right away. I announced to some coworkers shortly after as my role at work with some students had to change and they needed to know. Ended up having a miscarriage in May and while at first it was hard to have to tell everyone about it, I was very thankful for the support I received. It would have been hard having a natural miscarriage and not having my close coworkers (those who work directly in my classroom) know

I announced my pregnancy with my first scan at 9 weeks. You can announce whenever you like! A lot of people tend to keep quiet for the first 12 weeks as chances of miscarriage are higher in the first 12 weeks x
