Shot or patch for birth control?

Which would you prefer? Why?

Patch....if the side effects are too bad you can stop them. With a shot, once it is in your body, you are stuck with it.

Patch. I've heard very bad things about the shot, and I don't want to risk being stuck with the side effects of it for years. But overall I'm happy with my bc pill.

I was on the patch for almost 15 years and I never had any side effects or unwanted pregnancies.

I tried both and didn't like the patch, but was on the shot for 3 years with 0 side effects. It cleared up my skin and I didn't gain any weight. It hurt for a couple days after getting the shot, but Ibuprofen helped. I also bled a lot when I first started the shot and then my periods basically went away, I only got a few a year. I didn't have any trouble getting pregnant after stopping the shot either. Don't let anyone scare you, there are some depo shot nazi's on here. I was on it and loved it and I'd highly recommend it. It was super easy and you never have to think about it, except 4 times a year. The patch was noticeable, and it would get that black gunk around the edges, just like a sticker. It's essentially a big sticker, and it felt gross after a few days.
