Does anyone believe in the superstition of telling people too early about your pregnancy?

Wait wait wait. Its not superstition it's science. A majority of pregnancy loss happens before or at 12 weeks. Its harder to explain over and over again "we lost the baby", than to deal with a loss nobody knew about between just you and your SO. 
My first pregnancy ended at 26 weeks, we lost one out of two of our babies. I still get asked "how are the twins", and "didn't you have twins". Yeah. I did--but now I don't, and I wish less people knew about it all together.
Loss is real. It happens.

It all depends. With my first two children we waited until I was 12 weeks to tell anyone. With this one I told everyone at 5 weeks. Yes, there are risks in very early pregnancy. But I said to myself if GOD forbid something bad happens, I would not want to suffer alone. Pray about it and do what you think is best for you. But please do not let fear rob you of your joy, which so many of us tend to do

I don't think there's a superstition, people wait because the first three months are when you're most prone to miscarriage.

We told everyone at 7w6d. I wanted to know that, god forbid, in the event of a loss that I would have a huge support system. Thankfully the pregnancy was smooth sailing for the most part and I now have a little one that will be celebrating one month outside of the womb tomorrow! 💜

Nope, we announced ours at 8 weeks because we were too excited. We figured that worst case if we lost the baby, we'd just have a large support system. Thankfully we didn't! I'm nearly 38 weeks and due any day now 😊

Definitely not a superstition.  I told a ton of people after I found I was pregnant. I was like 4 maybe 5 weeks. I lost that baby, my son, at 25 weeks. It's hard so hard to unannounce  a pregnancy. Now I'm almost 17 weeks and I was definitely more reserved about who I told, and how many people I told. Not because I'm not excited , but because I'm terrified of losing another baby, and having to relieve it by constantly  telling a bunch of people.

I think it's half superstition and half truth. Yes the risk of loss is much greater in the beginning. I was never shy about sharing the news early because even if it didn't work out, I was still briefly pregnant. I was well aware of the odds and even if the baby didn't make it, I wasn't going to hide the fact that I had been pregnant. I would explain to people what happened and move on. I think the superstition part is people think if they tell people early, it will cause them to lose the baby.  Absolutely not true. The odds are just as high if it's a secret or out in the open. Only difference is that there will be people grieving with you versus you doing it in private.

I kept it under wraps because it was so wonderful to have a delightful little secret with my fiancé and close family & friends. Plus, I wanted the support in case something happened. It also can get tedious if you tell a lot of people at once and then they have loads of questions.

It depends on your personal preference. I didn't tell anyone with my first pregnancy and made it to 10w4d and miscarried. It was hard because no one even knew I was pregnant so I felt I had to keep it a secret I was dealing with a loss.

Some people don't want to have to deal with announcing and then telling people if they do miscarry, so they wait until their chances are greatly diminished.

It's your pregnancy and you get to decide when and how you announce, and it's perfectly fine to do it early or late.
