Does anyone let their baby sleep with a lovey/blankie/stuffed animal?

Does your baby sleep with anything in their crib? My son loves his little bear lovey. He must have that or a blanket to cuddle with or he won't put himself to sleep. So I usually let him snuggle it into he falls asleep then I take it away before I go to bed. Sometimes he wakes up when I take it and he seemingly sleeps better when he has something to snuggle... 
When is it ok to let them have it through the night? 
My first son didn't like blankets or anything to sleep with so this is new to me...

My son sometimes wants a lovey and sometimes doesn't. My pediatrician said once they're strong enough to roll, sit, scoot they're fine to have a lovey in the crib. I'm not sure I would do a blanket at this point though, since it's easier to get tangled in.
