castor oil stories??

And did it work for you? Curious , willing to try anything as I'm overdue.

I've never done it and I wouldnt. 
But since it increases the risk of meconium in the womb I suggest against it. My daughter released meconium in the womb and we found out when they broke my water while I was being induced. We had so many extra nurses and doctors and nicu staff waiting because they thought she would be ill or would be in respiratory distress. 
I can't even explain the fear I felt when she didn't cry. I just kept repeating in my head "cry, baby cry. Please cry" and luckily, she did. She was perfectly healthy and scored a 9.9 on the apgar. And I am so grateful. But her story could have had a darker outcome easily. They were ready to wheel her away to the nicu immediately. 
It's not worth it. I know how miserable being overdue is. I only went to 40+2, but I had PUPPS for the last 2 months of my pregnancy, had a mild case of SPD, still threw up regularly, and was miserable. But, it's not worth it. 
Ask about being induced if you want, or to have your membranes swept. Both are better options than castor oil. I don't want anyone to have to fear the way I did. I pushed for an hour and a half and the entire time all I could think about was getting her out. I knew that the longer she was in there the worse it could be. So even when the nurses told me to rest through a contraction I told them no. I needed to know she was okay.
You want to hold your baby immediately, not watch him or her be wheeled off to nicu.

I never tried it but when I asked my doctor she said that she would never recommend that someone try castor oil because it can cause the baby to poop in the womb. All I did to help start labor was walk for a while and I cleaned my entire apartment. I was active the whole day and I started contractions (didn't know I did until I went to my doctor the next day). I was induced but they stopped my pitocin after 30 minutes due to the fact I was having contractions on my own.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies! I've had my membranes stripped 3 times, don't wanna do medical induction (apt on the 21) took epo, tried sex, used birthing ball every night, had red raspberry leaf tea, and took hot baths etc.. nothing works 😖I'm 2cm 70% effaced ..
