Drinking alcohol while (kinda) TTC... what's okay??

Hi TTC-ers! Please don't judge me for asking this but is it okay to have a few drinks here and there while you're in the 2 week waiting period?? I realize I'm asking this on a Friday night, so believably some of us will be winding down with a drink, but could it affect anything? I know the books say to avoid alcohol whilst TTC but let's be real.

New research from Europe shows that drinking when ttc does not have a bad influence (As long as it's under 14 units of alcohol per week). It even showed that it helped some people, explaining it with the argument that when you have a few you are more relaxed and your body and mind does not stress about the pressure ttc can give.

I'm on my third month TTC and I haven't been drinking.. but it may be hard not to have an occasional drink here and there. I'm paranoid about it though! Sometimes in social settings it's hard bc we aren't announcing to everyone that we are TTC 😕

Your chances of conceiving is lowered (says my dr.) but honestly when I conceived my son (he wasn't planned not trying birth control condom failed shocker kinda thing) I had no idea I was pregnant and drank (and I don't mean only one drink at dinner I was every weekend binge drinker) until the day I tested. He is happy healthy 3 yr old who is in the 99% for height and 60 for weight so he developement is perfect. Some ladies on here say drink til it's Pink (meaning 2 lines or a positive test) I've been trying for baby #2 for 16 months still no luck so this cycle I'm not drinking.

My doctor told me just drink in moderation until you find out you are pregnant. For two months I didn't drink during the two weeks, then on the third month I got fed up with it cuz we were going to a wedding. Low and behold, the morning after I had 4 drinks was when I got my positive 😆. Not worried though 😊

It's up to you and personally how you feel about it. If it were me there's no way I would chance it. Some of us are more paranoid/careful than others though 😊 ultimately it's your choice

I have been ttc for a year and half and I have had a few drinks here and there but nothing major I think the most has been maybe 4 at once. I think it's okay with moderation.

I was just wondering the same thing. With my first baby I drank in my two week wait not knowing I was pregnant and he is perfectly healthy. This time I'm trying to cut back so I'm not going nuts in my TWW but still enjoying a drink here and there.
