FTM, was it wrong or did I make a right decision??

Ok, so I'm 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my first little girl .. I had went to my appointment for a check up to see if I'm dilating I was only dilated 1cm ... And been like that for a month 😞! (Baby ain't ready yet☺️)but besides that the nurse ask me if I wanted to get the flu shot., I strongly  said no due to one of the moms here said she recommends not to get it pregnant because she went to premature labor and not that long baby passed away(#r.i.p🙏🏼) and I read her story and it got me scared so they made me sign a paper stating I refuse, so was I wrong to do so or better be safe then sorry ??... Really need help it's bothering me now..and I'm now I'm scared...

There is zero medical proof that the flu shot is dangerous to pregnant women or their babies. The flu, however, can be quite risky. Look, take the stories you hear on message boards with a grain of salt. Trust your medical professionals, not strangers with no medical training. Unfortunately, people who experience losses tend to look for reasons and make associations based on coincidence, not founded in fact (like women who think transvaginal ultrasounds cause miscarriages... No, transvaginal USs take place in the 1st trimester and so do the majority of MCs. Coincidence, not fact). Use this message board as a guide, NEVER as a replacement for the doctors advice. I got my flu shot for sure.

The lady that posted said she was 24 weeks pregnant. You have technically made it to full term at 37 weeks. Also, the flu shot is an inactive virus and has no relation to sending someone into labor.

I got my flu shot when I was 30 weeks pregnant and my arm was sore but that's about it.. my baby is super healthy and I'm 35 weeks now.. If i would've heard stories, I wouldn't of gotten it either..

The flu shot can not cause loss. I do feel very sorry for her and couldn't imagine, but i believe she just may be looking for something to blame. Had she drank a coffee that day she probably would have blamed the caffiene. If you think you made the wrong decision go get it done.

It's not a live strain so it will not actually make you sick. 
You can get flu like symptoms but it's not ACTUALLY the flu and only lasts a day or two. If you do get sick afterwards you either A. We're exposed before the shot could kick in (it takea 2 weeks) B. Have a strain of the flu that wasn't covered in the shot,  or C. Have something else, like a bad cold.

I got mine because my inlaws are coming in mid December, passing through 3-4 airports to get here. That's a lot of germs that she will be exposed to so if there is even a chance that she will be protected because I got the shot, then hell yes I will get it. Got the TDAP aswell because both illness can be truly horrid in infants

Preggo with baby #6 and I've gotten the flu shot with all of them. It did give me flu like symptoms but that's just the way MY body reacts to the flu shot as that's been the norm my entire 33yrs on this earth. Use your own discretion but remember our immune system is weakened being pregnant and can be more susceptible to illness. Gl dollface😘

If you intend to breastfeed then you will be providing the baby with antibodies due to what it needs. These antibodies also work in your body. It's nature's way of protecting you both.
I opted out of the flu shot. I had one less than a month before becoming pregnant and it made me extremely sick.
My doctor did not make me sign a paper though.

I got mine when I was only like 6 or 7 weeks pregnant. I'm fine. No spotting or anything out of the ordinary and now I'm 12 weeks tomorrow.  :)

Like the other ladies said. One case doesn't provide enough evidence that it was a direct cause of the shot. But in your case, you're almost there so you can always take in after delivery

Your body's immune system is weakened while pregnant (partly to protect baby), so you are more at risk for contracting the flu. Being 37 weeks, you are close to giving birth. By protecting yourself from the flu, you lessen the chances of your newborn baby contracting it. The flu can be very dangerous for a newborn.
