How did you feel prior to labor?

Question

I'm 38 weeks 5 days, and am curious as to how people felt in the day, or days prior to going into labor. I've been experiencing more and more Braxton hicks along with cramping and back pain. I'm 2 cm dialated and 75% effaced (i know it doesn't mean much.) I also lost my mucus plug over a week ago. Started getting bloody show last night, onto this morning. I am just wondering if labor is approaching. My body is worn out, and I can't sleep any more, and am so ready to meet my little one!

I started losing parts of my mucous plug at beginning of 37 weeks and having irregular contractions by the end of the week. Went to l&d with false labor that wouldn't progress past 4 cm 70% effaced. Tried everything - walking sex bouncing on ball jumping jacks spicy foods- felt like i was going to be pregnant forever at 39 weeks 6 days. Woke up on my due date around 8:30 am with stronger contractions but weren't quite close enough together so i went to my appt at 10 am instead of the hospital. My contractions got closer together and to the point i was crying while there. They checked and i was 7 cm 80% effaced. Drove myself the 5 minutes to the hospital from the dr office, arrived feeling the need to push,  they broke my water and he was born at 10:56 am - not even 10 minutes after getting there!
