Feeding

Kelsey

So I just had my daughter 2 weeks ago and have been breastfeeding ever since. Nipples have been a little sore from her latching but they dont hurt while she is feeding and just found out today that she is tongue tied so that's why she has a bit of a shallow latch. Pumped for the first time today and OMG did it hurt and make my nipples feel worse. I didn't breastfeed my first for this long and want to keep breastfeeding and I've been told and suggested to pump to relieve the soreness from my nipples but it just makes it feel worse. After being in tears from the pain of pumping, I just felt like giving up all together and just go to formula feeding when I really don't want to.

Also with my daughter being tongue tied, I dont know whether to take care of it or just leave it alone. I've been told as she gets older, if it's not taken care of, she will have problems with pronunciation and she could also have sleep apnea. This is something we learned today she gets from her dad because he was in speech therapy when he was younger and to this day has problems pronunciating some words and usually has trouble getting to sleep at night.

I'm not a new mom, she is my second child, but maybe some positive thoughts and advice will help. Thank you
