Does anorexia harm baby?

I've been battling anorexia during my pregnancy and have gained 10 lbs (I'm 33 weeks) and it has really depressed me. This morning I noticed I lost a pound. I haven't told my doctor I have this issue because it's really embarrassing. She doesn't show concern over my weight either. I see her next week. I'm wondering if it harms baby or if baby is gonna steal everything from me and be great, thanks. Last time I saw how big my baby was at 20 week ultrasound and she was measuring on time

Yes eating disorders are harmful to the baby, you need to get nutrients for the baby to grow, and you also need to be healthy in order for the baby to be healthy

You should definitely talk to your doctor - you have a eating disorder. It's not you it's the disorder but it could hurt the baby if you're not careful to try and nip this in the bud before it could get more out of control. Hope you feel able to talk to someone- especially as eating disorders can thrive when being tried to be kept secret.

The baby needs the nutrition and you will lose the weight naturally after. Your body is weighting more due to baby, fluid, doubled blood supply, placenta and water retention, maybe a tiny bit of fat to help with milk supply. This is good weight gain! It's really not worth risking anything for the sake of your baby xx

Keep taking pre Natals and talk to doctor. I have a feeling they see this a lot. Our cultures are very wrapped up in body image so I am sure they see it in women often. I am very tall and slender and use to model so it was difficult for me to see that weight go up. But it's all for baby! Just think of them!

Yes it does. Your baby needs nutrients that you arent giving her. You need carbs, iron, protein. Carbs you need 30 g for morning and 3 snacks. 45 g for lunch and 60 g for dinner. You need to tell your doctor, like 30 weeks ago

Talk to you doctor to discuss various nutrition options. Also, have you spoke with a therapist regarding your disorder or joined a support group for women struggling with anorexia.  Thanks for sharing with us, I know that it can't be easy. I will be praying for you and the baby mama.

Talk to your doctor but make sure you're at least taking prenatal vitamins EVERYDAY if you aren't eating the proper amounts of nutrients.

Honey you need to tell your doctor about this and get treatment. It's wonderful your baby is measuring on time and in good health, but yours will be severely affected and baby needs you now and throughout her life
